Organizing the Salad Festival

"Chamber of Commerce President George Allison explained the set up of this year's Bradford Salad Festival Committee to a gathering of more than 50 representatives from local, civic and service organizations during a dinner meeting at Toby's Restaurant last week. This year, the Chamber of Commerce is acting as an umbrella organization for the event. This year's Salad Festival will be held on the July 18, 19 weekend."

The May Tea

The May Tea and Bake Sale was the last social event to be held in the Loyal True Blue Hall by Senior Citizens of the Friendship Club. Club meetings and events have been held at the hall for 24 years. In the future events will be held at the new Senior Citizens' Centre on Blake Street. Above from left are: Miss Laura Baynes, David McClymont, who officially opened the afternoon event; Mrs. Allan Couchman, president and convener of the tea, and Miss S. C. Robertson who performs the tea honors.

Bradford's Centennial - Store floats

Bradford's Centennial Parade. Shops that line Holland St. W. include Kilkenny Furniture, Evans Bakery, and Bradford 5 Cents to $1.00 Store. The tow truck at the far right of the picture is from Monarch Ford. Behind it, two girls carry a banner which reads: "Centennial Congratulations from Ray Hodgson, Imperial Oil Dealer, and Joe Wintercorn, Imperial Oil Farm Trade Agent." Behind them is an old Imperial Oil gasoline tank wagon.
