Holland Street Looking East

This is a picture of Holland Street looking east when it was just a dirt road. Kilkenny Furniture was located at the corner of Moore and Holland Streets. To the right of it is J.A. Webb's Meat Market, Ernest Snow's Saddlery, and Davey's Butcher Shop.

Town Hall

The Bradford Town Hall was built about 1862.

Holland Theatre

The Holland Theater was built in 1937. The owners in the 1940's and early 1950's were Mr. Rees and Mr. Hobberlin. Later, this building became a furniture store and then a clothing store.

Prof. W.H. Day cairn - detail

"In Memory of William Henry Day, Professor of Physics at O.A.C. Guelph, whose foresight and energy were principal factors in the development of the Holland Marsh Gardens. He came to Bradford in 1924 and harvested his first crop in 1928. He died suddenly while at work in his garden, July 5, 1938.
Erected jointly by county of Simcoe, Townships of West Gwillimbury and King and Village of Bradford 1955."
