Description : The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents and was officiated by Rev. N. R. D. Sinclair. Myrtle Elsie is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Issac Cairns of Bradford. Eben Todd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilson Sawyer of Gilford.Following the wedding, took up residence on the groom's farm just outside of Gilford.

Description : Muriel Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dolph Kneeshaw, Gilford, married Stanley Eugene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Cairns, Bradford. Rev. W. Spurgeon Butt officiated and Mr. Frank Dutcher of Barrie, uncle of the bride, played the wedding music. The bride was attended by Miss Marion Bell of Gilford, and groomsman, as well as cousin, was Mr. Milton Fisher of Toronto. The ushers were Mr. Gordon Kneeshaw, brother of the bride, and Mr. Jack Richardson of Toronto, cousin of the groom. The wedding took place at Ebenezer United Church and the reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Upon returning from a honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Cairns will reside on the groom's farm near Bradford.

Neilly, Richard J. obituary

"Richard James Neilly, who has been a resident of Aurora for the past fourteen years, died suddenly on Tuesday, November 14 at his late residence in town. Born in Gilford, Mr. Neilly received his public school education there and later attended Bradford high school. For twenty-eight years he was the manager and buyer for the Victoria Mercantile Company, Victoria Harbour, Ontario. Moving to Drayton in 1929 he conducted a general store and later retired, moving to Aurora in 1936. Mr. Neilly was a member of the former Methodist Church and later the United Church and was also a part master of the Victoria Lodge, A.F. & A.M. for Victoria Harbour. The funeral service was conducted be Rev. H. Howey on Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home. Interment was at Coulson's Hills cemetery. The pallbearers were three cousins, William Baynes, Barrie, Wilfred Wood, Deerhurst, and Roy Kneeshaw, Bradford; and three members of the Aurora United Church, Frank Hughes, Tom Swindle, and Alex Bell. Surviving are his widow, the former Rose Baker; three sons, Homer of Ottawa, Harold of the Western University, London, and Earl of Aurora; one daughter Vivian of Aurora; four sisters, Cassie, Addie, Jennie, of Toronto, and Annie of Norland. A brother, Wesley, paid the supreme sacrifice in World War I."

Description : After an illness of about two weeks, following a stroke, Mrs. W.J. Griffiths passed away in Newmarket Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Griffith's maiden name was Annie Thomas and she was born and educated in Wales. She came to Canada in 1911 and in Toronto she met and married J.W. Griffiths, now of Gilford. About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Griffith moved to Gilford. Mrs. Griffith is survived by her husband and one son, Thomas Hugh, of Gilford, in which district the family is well and most favourably known.An Anglican in religion, the funeral services, held from the T. Kilkenny & Son Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon, were conducted by Rev. H.G. Blake, with interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.Six nephews were pallbearers, namely, Thos. Veith, Wm. Ippitson, Wm. Saunders, Clyde Stewart, Howard Reeves and Mel Gallinger, all of Toronto.
