Description : Died at his home, Bradford. Dear father of John Zima, Sr. and dear grandfather of John Jr. and Paul, and survived by six great-grandchildren, all of Bradford. Friends may call at the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Service Friday at 2 p.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto, approximately 3:30 p.m.

Mayor Roy Gordon and new council sworn in at inauguration

"Bradford's 1977-78 council was sworn in at a ceremony at the community centre Monday evening. At left, new Mayor Roy Gordon accepts the gavel from retiring mayor Joe Magani. Mr. Magani said he thought the gavel was given to him personally, but found out by reading the inscription that it was donated to the town. At right, Bradford lawyer Charles Evans conducts Mayor Gordon through the oath of office. In the centre photo is the council which will serve with Mayor Gordon. Members are (from left) Councillors Rick Wright, John Zima, Zyg Fenik, and Sandy Hudson; Deputy-reeve Milt Hambly; and Reeve Ken Wood."

Description : Passed away at Bradford Valley on Wednesday, December 12, 2007. John Zima of Bradford in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Mary (Janosec). Dear father of John (Judy), Irene Swan, Mary (Keith) Rutledge. Dear grandpa of Jennifer and Andrew; Catherine and David; Julie and Mark. Dear great grandpa of Jaylin, Daniel, Hailey and Cameron. Dear brother of the late Paul Zima. Special thanks to the staff of Bradford Valley for their compassionate care. Friends called at SKWARCHUK FUNERAL HOME, Bradford for visitation. Funeral service held in the Lathangue Chapel on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Toronto. Donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket would be appreciated.

Bradford Public Library Plaque

A plaque marking the building of the Bradford Public Library in 1962. The plaque is heavyweight and made of metal. It notes donors and the names of members of the Library Board at the time. The plaque was removed from the Library's John Street West location after it was decommissioned following the building of a new Library location at 100 Holland Court.
