Description : In failing health owing to advanced age, Mr. Harry Norton Gapp had been bedfast for about three months before his death at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Steers, of West Gwillimbury. The immediate cause of death was a stroke.Born in Norfolk, England, the late Mr. Gapp was married there to the former Ruth Dack of Birmingham, England. In 1911 they came to this country and settled at Bradford. In earlier life he worked with the railroad but later turned to his favourite occupation, gardening. On December 3, 1935, Mrs. Gapp died very suddenly. Mr. Gapp continued to make his home in Bradford until after the marriage of his only daughter, Mrs. Steers. In more recent years he has made his home with her and her husband on the farm where his last years were spent gardening and doing the lighter tasks about the farm which was a manner of living much enjoyed by him.He was a member of the Church of England and of the I.O.F.Mr. Gapp is survived by four sons, John, Edward and Sydney, all of Bradford, and Harry of Toronto, and one daughter, Mrs. Ben Steers, West Gwillimbury. A son, Robert, predeceased him a few years ago. A sister in Canada, Mrs. George Rowson, Port Nelson, and four sisters and a brother in Norfolk, England, also survive.The funeral was held on Thursday, February 5, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Steers, to Trinity Anglican Church, Bradford, where services were conducted by two former rectors of the church, namely Rev. H. G. Blake of Toronto and Rev. T. J. Dew of Mimico. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.The pallbearers were his four sons, Edward, John and Sydney Gapp of Bradford and Harry Gapp of Toronto, Douglas Stewart and James Steers.Flowerbearers were three grandsons, Robert, Thomas and Donald Gapp of Toronto, D. Chantler and Bill Williams.

Description : Mrs. Margaret Mitchell who made her home in Bradford until a few years ago, when she joined her daughter in New York, passed away in St. Barnabas Hospital, New York. Mrs. Mitchell had been ill since early December when she suffered a stroke.Born at Cambourne, Ontario, Mrs. Mitchell came to Bradford from Emsdale, Muskoka, about twenty-five years ago when with her sister, Miss Lean and her late brother-in-law and niece, Mr. Mitchell and Miss Olive Brown, they purchased the home known as The Pines. She continued to make her home there until a few years ago when she joined her daughter, Miss Thomas, in New York City.A member of the United Church, Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter in New York, a brother, F. Lean, in Cambourne, and a brother and sister, Mr. John Lean and Miss C. Lean of Bradford.The funeral was held in Cambourne United Church on Monday, February 2. The services were conducted by Rev. F. G. MacTavish of Bradford and interment was in Cambourne Cemetery.

Description : In failing health for about ten years, Mr. Ben B. C. Rogers passed away at 27 Walmer Rd., Toronto, at the age of 74.Mr. Rogers was born at Bradford, going to Manitoba in 1890 with his parents. There he completed his education at Brandon Business College before beginning farming in that province. In 1913 he arried the former Sarah Peresian at Riceville and by 1921 they decided to move to Ontario, settling on
Concession 8, West Gwillimbury. For 24 years they farmed there until retiring to Bradford in 1945. On February 2, 1950, Mrs. Rogers passed away quite suddenly and shortly afterwards he gave up his home in Bradford.Surviving are two sons, Walter at Orangeville, and Ivor in Toronto. A brother, Banting Rogers, lives at Miami, Manitoba.Mr. Rogers was a member of Bradford United Church and his minister, Rev. F. G. MacTavish, conducted the funeral services which were attended by many old friends, on Tuesday, February 3, from the T. Kilkenny & Son Funeral Home. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.The pallbearers were former neighbours, Kenneth Wood, Stanley Cairns, Wesley Adair, Cyril Selby, Percy Selby and Emory Belfry.
