The activities for the celebration were introduced with a parade, which assembled a Poole's garage, and was led by two pipers, Paul and Marilyn Moir of Cookstown, up the hill and into Lloyd Coburn's orchard, which was prepared in readiness for celebrating the occasion." ...

Though your editors did not see it, from all reports it created an eerie feeling in those who were witness to its passing. Dr. Peter Millman of the National Research Council , Ottawa, said the meteorite may have been a fragment of a planet that broke up millions of years ago and, if so, it probably had been orbiting the sun until it crashed through the earth's atmosphere."
