Community : Other - Bradford Street : Lot : Concession : 0 Description : Friends of Bradford's Deputy Reeve Ken Wood were saddened this week by the news of his mother's death on Saturday morning.Mrs. Ethele Wood died after 10 days in hospital near her daughter's home in Niagara Falls, at the age of 90.Mrs. Wood was born Ethele Sinclair in 1885 at the Scotch Settlement near Bradford and lived in the district until she moved to Niagara Falls to live with her daughter Jean Bartell. Mrs. Wood was the daughter of John and Jane Sinclair, descendants of the original Selkirk Scottish settlers.In 1912, she married James Frank" Wood of the Bradford area and lived all her married life on the 8th Line farm her son Ken still owns.Ken and his sister Jean were Mrs. Wood's only children. She has one surviving brother Robert Sinclair of Barrie. She is also survived by five grandchildren.Funeral services for Mrs. Wood were held Tuesday afternoon from the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Chapel in Bradford.Murray Faris Keith Sinclair Faris Sinclair Emery Belfry Joe Magani and Bev Everitt acted as pallbearers. Hank Swagerman Charles Macoun Sam Lee and Bob Evans were flower bearers for the ceremony."
