Description : Mrs. Florence Edith Batchelor of Bradford passed away at Mount Albert on April 18, 1964, after four and a half years of failing health.Mrs. Batchelor, whose maiden name was Florence Cross, was born near London, England, and came to Bradford with her late husband's parents, after their son, Charles Batchelor, had established himself here, where he came in 1906. In April, 1909, she and Charles Batchelor were married at Bradford United Church by Rev. Long and since that time Mrs. Batchelor had been a respected resident of the town and had many friends here who missed her friendly ways when failing health demanded that she be cared for outside her own home.About twenty-four years ago Mr. Batchelor died very suddenly. She is survived by two sons, John of Barrie and Tom of Rexdale. She was also predeceased by a brother in England two years ago.Mrs. Batchelor was a member of Bradford United Church and apart from her home and church, her interest was in flowers for which she had a gift of growing. The funeral was held from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home on April 20. Rev. R. N. Jackson conducted the services and interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The pallbearers were George Stoddart, Ken Sawdon, Ted. Gapp, Jim Thompson, Wilton Johnson and Tom Gardner.
