Description : Died at her home at the age of 87. One of Sarnia's widely known citizens. Widow of F. G. Newton, for 25 years rector of St. John's Anglican Church, Sarnia. Mother-in-law to Hon. Ray Lawson, former Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario. A son, Theodore, is director on information for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, stationed presently in London, England.Mrs. Newton was regarded around Sarnia as one of the most outstanding authorities on the early history of Sarnia and Lambton Counties.Born in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Robinson, pioneer of this district. She was a resident of Sarnia for more than 40 years.She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ray Lawson, Oakville; and Miss Dorothy Newton, Sarnia; two sons, Fred, Detroit, and Theodore, London, England; three brothers, Dr. G. W. Robinson, Detroit, Mich.; Hillard Robinson, Detroit; and James Robinson, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
