Description : Death struck with startling suddenness Tuesday evening of last week when Mr. Harry R. Williams died suddenly from a heart condition. For a few weeks Mr. Williams had mentioned having a shortness of breath, and a pain about his shoulder and arm, but always having enjoyed good health he gave these symptoms little heed. Last Tuesday he was about as usual, overseeing the work on the new house he was building immediately west of his own on the farm, which, with his aunt, Miss Sawdon, he planned to occupy as soon as completed, bringing his son and family to occupy the farm home. In the afternoon he was in Bradford on business, but shortly before midnight that evening he was stricken and passed away within a few minutes.Harry Williams was born at Colgan, coming with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Williams, to the Bond Head road and the farm now occupied by Alonza Williams, when thirteen years of age. He attended school at Colgan and Middleton before completing his schooling at a Toronto Business College. Returning he purchased the farm which he occupied until his death, immediately east of the farm of his father. Here he not only farmed most successfully, but carried on an extensive business as a seed buyer, and was local agent for the Steele Briggs Co-Operative.Possessing a cheerful and friendly disposition, Mr. Williams had many friends, as was attested by the very large number attending the funeral on Friday afternoon. He was a member of Bond Head United Church. He married one of the daughters of the neighbourhood, Velma Sawdon, whose death, while still a young woman, in 1934, left him and his young son alone. It was at this time that the aunt of the wife and mother, Miss Sawdon, came to the home of Mr. Williams where she has since presided, making it truly home" to its owner and his son.Mr. Williams is survived by his son Thomas and a grandson David; by his aunt Miss Sawdon; and by two brothers and three sisters namely Alonza (his twin) of Bradford Silas in Michigan Mrs. Robt. Wood (Lettie) of Bradford Mrs. Smeltzer (Anna) of Toronto and Mrs. E. Anderson (Alexia) of Sundridge. Another brother Walter predeceased him.The funeral was held from his late home on Friday afternoon. The services were taken by his minister Rev. F. Newell and a family friend Mr. Merton Toole of Mount Albert. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The pallbearers were all neighbours of the deceased namely Frank Smelser Lorenzo Harvey Frank and Tom Whiteside Jack Armstrong and Keith Langford."
