Melbourne, Carl -- (retired from York Regional Police) at York County Hospital, Newmarket on Sunday, September 13, 1987. Carl Melbourne of Holland Landing and formerly of Sharon, Ontario in his 58th year. Beloved husband of Ruth Thompson, dear father of Bonnie (Mrs. Joe Haas) of Bradford, Carol (Mrs. Greg Parker) of Georgetown and Debbie (Mrs. Chris Bergin) of Bond Head. Dear son of William and Gertie Melbourne. Dear brother of Anne (Mrs. Harry Sparling) of London, Ontario, Joan(Mrs. Vincent Lackimia) of Sepulveda, California and the late Ross Melbourne and his wife Hilda. Dear grandfather of Jessica Parker, Allison, David and Anne Bergin. The funeral service was held at Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford on Tuesday, September 15, 1987 at 2 o'clock p.m. Interment at Bond Head Cemetery. Donations to the CAT Scan at York County Hospital, Newmarket would be appreciated.

Boddy, John obituary extra

Description : The death of Mr. John Boddy, of this village, was referred to last week by nearly all our county exchanges. In our obituary notice we overlooked mentioning the fact that deceased had been a county magistrate for many years, and was also a staunch Conservative and a strong admirer of the late Sir John A. Macdonald. For upwards of thirty years he was the honoured treasurer of the South Simcoe Conservative Association, and in his day rendered valuable service to his party. The immediate cause of his death was an affection of the kidneys.

"On September 28, 1958, an historical plaque commemorating Sir William Mulock was unveiled in the village of Bond Head, Simcoe County. This plaque is one of a series being erected throughout the province by the Archaeological and Historic Sites Board of Ontario. Shown standing around the plaque, left to right, are Mr. Herbert Hughes, Councillor of West Gwillimbury; Mr. C.T.S. Evans, Q.C.; Mr. Arthur Evans, warden of Simcoe County; Mr. Percy Selby, Reeve of West Gwillimbury Township; the Rev. C.R.P. Hearn who dedicated the plaque; Mr. William T. Mulock, great-great-grandson of Sir William; the Hon. W. Earl Rowe, M.P.; Prof. T.F. McIlwraith, a member of the Historic Sites Board; Mr. Thomas H. Mulock, great-grandson of Sir William; Mr. George Lisk, Reeve of Tecumseth Township; and Mr. Murray Mills, Chairman of the Tourist and Industrial Association of Simcoe County."

"Mr. and Mrs. Daniel wilson, of Bond head, have been notified by Ottawa that their second son, Flt.-Sgt. Harold (Chub) Wilson, is missing after air operations over enemy territory. The entire crew of his craft failed to return and as yet there is no information regarding their fate, although authorities assure the parents that information is being sought through the Red Cross regarding them."

Albert Botham, beloved husband of Gretta Cairns, loving father of Lloyd and his wife Irene, Norval and his wife Patricia, dear brother of Mrs. Edison (Isabel) Hastings of Tottenham, fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Laurie and Daniel. Rested at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham on Wednesday, August 2 and Thursday, August 3. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Friday, August 4 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Mt. Tegart Cemetery, Tottenham. Donations in Albert's memory can be made to the York County Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or the VON.
