Abbott, retired Anglican minister who is well known in Anglican church congregation here, and mother of a former public health nurse in Bradford, died at her home in Schomberg on Sunday, February 9, at the age of 72.Mrs. Abbott was the daughter of a sea captain and was born in Sydney, Australia. When a child she went to Ireland and in 1906 came to Canada to an Indian mission field in northern Alberta. Married to Mr. Abbott eight years later, in 1914, she continued to work with her husband as a missionary in the Peace River district. Rev. Abbott had served in the Ivy-Utopia charge before coming to Schomberg in 1935. She is survived by her husband; a son Dr. Edwin Abbott, a missionary in India; and three daughters, Kathleen of Willowdale, Margaret of St.Catherines, and Mrs. Andrew Brink of Toronto.The funeral was held from St. Mary Magdalene's Anglican Church, Schomberg, on Tuesday, and interment was in Lloydtown Cemetery.

The groomsman was Mr. Robert Hanna of Toronto and the ushers were Mr. Robert Veale of Toronto and Mr. Keith Collings of Cayuga. Mr. and Mrs. Compton will reside in Bradford.
