Memories of Isobel Watson

An edited compilation based on written notes by Gladys Anna Isobel Watson (known as Isobel Watson) of Watson's life. Edited and Compiled by granddaughter, Michelle Joyce. Includes 12 page transcript, Cover Page and Reproduction of the Marriage Certificate of Norman Blain Coutts and Gladys Anna Isobel Watson. Watson was born July 14, 1907 on a farm located in West Gwillimbury at Concession 4, Lot 7 to William John Watson and Ida Jane Milligan Banting. Isobel married Norman Bhain Coutts and raised with him five children: Duncan, Roderick, Karol Anne, Brian and Sharon. The oral history was transcribed in November 2007, shortly before Isobel's death.

MEHER JENNIE - At Simcoe Manor Beeton on Friday January 28th, 1994. Jennie Bowles of Bond Head. In her 93rd year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Matthew Meher. Dear mother of Mary andher husband Charles Gibson of Barrie, Peter and his wife Ena of Thornton, Muriel and her husband Walter Reynolds of Bond Head, and Kenneth and his wife Jean of Bradford. Pre-deceased by son Douglas. Sister of Laura Hartman of Sarnia. Predeceased by brothers Willie, Russell, Reg and sister Vivian. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Paul F. KentFuneray Home (Hwy 27 north) Cookstown on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church Bond Head on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery Coulson Hill. Memorial donation to Simcoe Manor Beeton of the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

SCHOLTEN, Richard - At his residence on Sunday, October 30, 1994, Richard Scholten of Bond Head in his 52nd year. Beloved husband of Dagmar. Loving father of Stephanie, Stephen, Dawn and Diane. Dear grandfather of Adison and Alisha. Predeceased by his father Jacob and survived by mother Karen, seven brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St. Bradford. Funeral service was held at Victory Baptist Church, Newmarket on Wednesday, Novembe 2, 1994 at 2 p.m. Interment at Bond Head Cemetery. Donations to the York County Hospital Foundation, Newmarket would be appreciated.

An Electric Meter Register book provided by the Department. Bond Head appears in the register, as do parts of New Tecumseth. It provides an example of the way such information was tracked at the time and how it would have been tracked in the Bradford West Gwillimbury area.
According to an Electricity Inspection Service hand-out from the same time period as the book: "A Meter Register Book is supplied by the Department of Trade and Commerce to contractors for The purpose of assisting them in complying with the provisions of the Electricity Inspection Act, and the regulations established thereunder. The following requirement are necessary...The Electricity Inspection Act provides a penalty of fifty dollars for any neglect in respect of the above requirements."
