Photo was taken near the Bradford Pump House at the junction of the canal and the Holland River near Hwy. 11. The pumps were flown in from Western Canada by the Armed Forces, arranged by Mr. Stoddart. A tractor was used to run the pump. Water was pumped from the flooded land over the dyke and into the canal from where it flowed along the Holland River and into Cook's Bay.

"Bradford Flour Mill Samuel Lukes" is painted on the side of this building which was situated on Holland St. East at Morris Rd. This mill was built in 1904, and could mill 300 barrels a day at maximum capacity.

This is a picture of Holland Street looking east when it was just a dirt road. Kilkenny Furniture was located at the corner of Moore and Holland Streets. To the right of it is J.A. Webb's Meat Market, Ernest Snow's Saddlery, and Davey's Butcher Shop.

To the leader of these men of vision, Professor W.H. Day, this memorial has been erected, with the Tourist and Industrial Committee of Simcoe County Council presenting the plaque and municipalities represented on the marsh area contributing the cairn, and today, May 27, 1956, is being unveiled.

Bradford Seed House float in Bradford's Centennial Parade on Holland St. W. The car is a 1917 Ford Touring, owned and operated by George van Nostrand. Harvey W. Curry is in the passenger seat and Mandy and Wally Hunt are in the rear seat. Beside the car is a man dressed as the Planter's Peanut.
