Came to Canada in 1846.
Married to Susan Fennell, daughter of the late Joseph Fennell, Esq., with whom he had a large family, five of which survive. The oldest son is the Reeve of West Gwillimbury.
His second wife was Maria Thompson, of Tecumseth, with whom he had a son and daughter, who still live at home with their mother and Miss Jennie Wood.
Recently his son, Joseph, and son-in-law, William Morton, also passed away.

(Corrie) of Eustis, John (Joyce) of Eustis, Robert (Lynda) of Celebration, Peter (Betty) Verkaik Jr. of Jos, Nigeria, Edward (Marcia) of Grand Rapids, MI.; daughters Linda (Red) Abbott of New Hampton, NH., Deanna Noteboom of Grand Rapids, MI.; brother: Sierk (Hilda) Rupke of Barrie, Ontario; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Visitation for friends was on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.

"STODDART, VERA JANEL Peacefully passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Lindsay on Thursday, February 21, 2019. Vera Stoddart (nee Fenwick) of Lindsay and formerly of Bond Head and Toronto in her 81st year. Leloved wife of Wilson for almost 59 years. Loving mom of Harry (Silvia) and Sandra (Peter) Labor. Loving grandma of Connor (Rebecca), Cavan, Harrison, Abigayle and Rebekah; Teigan and Sarah. Cherished sidter of Roy (Elaine) Fenwick. She will be dearly missed. She met life's challenges with grace, a quiet conviction, and persecerance. From her humble beginnnings as a city girl, she earned the respect of the farming community such that she became the first woman honoured as the Simcoe County Farmer of the Year (19990). She loved life on the farm, cherished her family and extended community, was a dedicated historian, and found beauty in her natural surroundings. Every day that she was able to share in the splendors of nature was another day well spent. She will be sadly missed by the countless organizations for which she volunteered. Friends may be received at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford (1-800-209-4803) for visitation on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm.
