Medal presented to Canadian Military member, Private E.J. Billings by the citizens of Bond Head in appreciation of his service during WWI. The medal was made by A. Neilly Jewelers in Bradford.
An Electric Meter Register book provided by the Department. Bond Head appears in the register, as do parts of New Tecumseth. It provides an example of the way such information was tracked at the time and how it would have been tracked in the Bradford West Gwillimbury area. According to an Electricity Inspection Service hand-out from the same time period as the book: "A Meter Register Book is supplied by the Department of Trade and Commerce to contractors for The purpose of assisting them in complying with the provisions of the Electricity Inspection Act, and the regulations established thereunder. The following requirement are necessary...The Electricity Inspection Act provides a penalty of fifty dollars for any neglect in respect of the above requirements."
A ledger book recording the circulation of books at the Bond Head Public Library. It is dated May 1942 and includes patron names, as well as check-out and return dates.
"The tenth running of the Canadian Open Sheep Dog trails, held in Bond Head last weekend, drew contestants right from Oregon through to Nova Scotia. In spite of inconsistent weather, Dog trail organizer Bill McMichael says, "the spectator attendance was about the same as last year, standing at about 1,000 over the two days." He also said, 'The interest in sheep dog running is very strong in the U.S. However, there the interest is more in running the dogs than in the spectator sport.'"
"A pressure vessel manufactured by Bond Head Welding is seen here starting its route to Toronto. Weighing 18 tons and holding approximately 15,000 gallons the tank was ordered by B.P. Oil. It took two men four weeks to construct the vessel."
"Snow brought weary travellers to Bond Head and the surrounding area, but it also brought precautions for the next weather emergency. An emergency fund has been set up between the Bond Head Snowmobile Association and the Bond Head Community Centre resulting from funds gathered by people stranded in the town hall. Over the three-day-period, 175 people slept on floors in sleeping bags and blankets, and ate food made by the women in the Bond Head area. Most of the people who stayed in the hall were truck drivers, and travellers from as far away as Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Cleveland, Ohio."
"On the way west! Well, maybe. Last Thursday, the great Canadian wagon train made its way through Bond Head. Here the group is making its way up the hill on Highway 27. The horses took a run to make it up the hill, then had to pull in so they wouldn't run away going down the other side. The main feature of the event was the long lineup of cars waiting to pass the train. The train was re-routed off Highway 27 to Alliston and by Tuesday still had not passed Barrie."
"Lynn Elizabeth Rodgers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Rodgers of Bond Head, graduated from Toronto Western Hospital Campus of George Brown College, July 24. Lynn will be joining the nursing staff of Toronto Western Hospital."
