Bradford Witness - May 31, 1906 edition
Part of Local History Collection
This edition of the Bradford Witness is located in the Local History Room, and is in particular a very noteworthy edition. The printing of this edition included many photographs of local businessmen, houses, storefronts, churches, and of the main streets. It also included mini-biographical articles of the people included, acting as a local history gold-mine for Bradford's early 1900s. We have included some of these photographs and articles here, though a full copy of the text and photographs was reorganized thematically by the Bradford West Gwillimbury Historical Society in 1997.

Volunteers wanted, to help market WEGWHIST history book
Part of WEGWHIST Collection
Description : As we approach the end of the writing and editing, we are faced with the challenge of marketing our product, the book. We need someone who can help us develop a marketing plan and execute it. We offer the same pay and benefits that we all enjoy as volunteers - an interesting project, good fellowship, positive enthusiasm and the real feeling of accomplishment. Governor Simcoe Slept Here: The Legacy of West Gwillimbury is the book being written by the volunteers of the WEGWHIST project. To help pay for publication costs, a Patrons Page has been established. Donors will be recognized in print, in this wonderful book that will be published this year, and hopefully available by December.

Description : The WEGWHIST Project volunteers were busy during the week of October 17th, collating the pages of the History of West Gwillimbury that has been 4 years in the making. They were joined by professionals, Orland French and Sharon Voth of Friessens Publications, out of Altona, Manitoba, who provided advice in matching up text with the hundreds of photographs contributed by residents. The two-volume History, titled Governor Simcoe Slept Here, will come off the presses in December. Pre-publication price is only $55 if ordered now; post-publication price is $65.
