Description : Betty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Westlake of Bradford, to Carman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Buttars of Plainville. The wedding took place at the Bond Head United Church. Rev. Henry Dahlin officiated.Mrs. Kathy Varga, sister of the bride, was matron of honour. Mrs. Cathie Westlake, the bride's sister-in-law; Mrs. Sandra Craven, sister of the groom; Miss D. Westlake, sister of the bride; Miss Susan Varga, niece of the bride, were bridesmaids. Miss Lorrie Varga, niece of the bride, was flower girl.The best man was Brian Hughes. Douglas and Lawrence Westlake, brothers of the bride, Allan Buttars, brother of the groom and Jim Hughes were ushers. Steven Varga, the bride's nephew, was the ring bearer.Mr. and Mrs. Buttars will reside in Toronto.

Mikos, Anna. After a lengthy illness on Friday, March 8, 1991. Anna Mikos of Bradford in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late James Mikos, loving mother of Andy and his wife Anna, Frank and his wife Mary and Jim and his wife Gisela, also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends called at the Lathangue and Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Funeral mass was held at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, Bradford, on Monday, March 11, 1991 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Martyrs Cemetery, Bradford.

This structure had a drive shed at the rear for stabling horses while the congregation attended church. The seating capacity was 125. The building had a simple 3-bay rectangular plan with a steep-pitched gable roof. Exterior buttresses and corner turrets (in lieu of a main spire) accentuated the sense of height. The symmetrical layout had a central aisle and an elevated pulpit and sacrament tables located at the front of the church. Large Gothic windows had vertical feature elements and pointed arch tracery. There was also a rose window. The large central entrance had an arched transom above. Solid brick masonry construction rested on a random field stone foundation. This building was demolished in 1957. The replacement church has a larger seating capacity. (3)

Father of James and Donna, both of Bradford; Jana and her husband Paul Thompson of Lakefield; Judy and her husband Peter Harway of Dunchurch; Marianne Smith of Tottenham; and Mark of Toronto. Grandfather of Joshua, Amanda, Jacob and Caleb van Ry; Vaughan, Jamie and Christopher Thompson; Meaghan McClymont, Zachary and Hilary Jane Harway; and Scott Smith. Brother of Enny DeBest of Bradford and the late Casey and Gary. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Rested in the Logan Funeral Home, Parry Sound. Interment in Hillcrest Mausoleum and Fairholme Cemetery, Dunchurch in the spring.
