Many Events have been enjoyed by the members and their friends. Recently, an enjoyable birthday party was held for Walter Lloyd. About 150 guests attended. A week later, a pot luck supper was held before the group's closing meeting before the summer. The club rooms will remain open four nights a week from 7 to 9 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend. On August 14, two members, Ted Dow and Stanley Cairns will attend the conference at St. Catharines. Zone 11 president Ben Steers will also be in attendance. The club's annual picnic will also be held in August at Minesing Park. Today, the members will enjoy a trip to Huntsville for a boat ride. The group said thanks to the West Gwillimbury Council for their grant to the club.

Guest speaker Allan Kneeshaw was attending the event to speak about Commodities as he had just graduated from the University of Guelph as a Commodity Specialist. The event ended with the Lord's Prayer and a lunch served by Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Green and Mrs. Dixon.

The kidnappers stole the vehicle of Mrs. Petro and took her grandson Ronald with them because he was in the backseat when they stole it. About 45 minutes later the kidnappers released Ronald at a gas station where he called the police and was safely returned to his grandmother.
