These pine logs were cut on the Faris farm in 1961. Young Alan is perched on top, concerned that the clean side of his running shoes were showing, a quote from a close family member. The logs were delivered to McArthurs mill and returned to the Faris farm as planks to be used for repairing the buildings.

These enormous elm logs are in the wood yard on the Brown farm, lot 14, and conc.10. Harry Brown is standing on the right, his brother, Frank, is on the left. They are cutting these elm logs into firewood length blocks for the next winters wood supply. Trees would be cut from the woodlot into logs and then skidded onto the sleigh and pulled by team of horses up to the woodyard between the house and barn to be cut up for firewood. This was a handy way for this to be done as Frank and Harry would not have to walk to the bush to cut wood ever nice day. Photo taken in the 1920s.
