Description : A well known and lifelong resident of Newton Robinson community, Mrs. Thomas Robinson, passed away peacefully at Inniswood Private Hospital on Saturday, November 14, 1964, after several years of failing health. She was in her 87th year. The daughter of Richard Bell of Tecumseth Township and his wife, Deborah Carter, she attended the public and continuation school at Newton Robinson for a number of years. She was employed in the tailoring business until she became the bride of Thomas Robinson on Nov. 7, 1900. Mrs. Robinson was devoted to her family and to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Pinkerton.During World Wars One and Two, she gave much of her time to Red Cross work and was honoured by a life membership.Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters and three sons, Edna (Mrs. Fred Welch), Barrie, Mildred (Mrs. Wm. McLaren), Grand Bend, Marjorie (Mrs. Ken Bulman), Alliston, John of Newton Robinson, Thomas of Edmonton and William of Sudbury; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Two sons and a daugher predeceased her.The funeral service was held in St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown, conducted by her Rector, Rev. Mr. Howard, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.The pallbearers were six grandsons, Keith, Wayne, and Gerald Robinson, Frank Packard, Doug Keating and Don Robson; the flower bearers were Russel Copeland, Earl Bell, John Feltis, Ted Houston, Lawrence Copeland and Bob Dorsey.Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Edmonton, Toronto, Aurora, Bradford, Schomberg, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Barrie, Grand Bend, Beeton, Bolton, Weston, Tottenham, Alliston and Stroud.
