Description : Mr. Burnside had been one of Bradford's best known and popular residents for a period of more than twenty years. For a few years he left Bradford and worked in Goderich but he returned and had been most happy to be back among his friends here. As driver on the milk route he knew everyone and everyone knew him and liked him. Never did a more obliging and popular man perform this service. He liked people and took pleasure in his work. For the sick and infirm he was a daily caller and many a kind and obliging act, far beyond the call of his duties in delivery of milk, was performed by Nick" Burnside. More recently he was on the staff of Compton's I.G.A. groceteria where many a shopper blocked traffic while they had a few words with their friend."Nick" Burnside gave his best to everything he undertook to do. A former lacrosse star he was a little too old for that rugged game during most of his years here. But his enthusiasm never waned and he did much to keep lacrosse alive in Bradford. Since the new community centre became sufficiently advanced for use "Nick" had been looking up players for next year's team with his customary enthusiasm."Nick" Burnside was a kindly man a good friend and faithful to his customers and employees and will certainly be missed here.To his wife who has been indeed a true helpmeet sincerest sympathy is extended to her in her sad bereavement and loneliness. No effort was too great in assisiting her husband and his death leaves her a very lonely woman. The funeral took place in Markdale on Saturday afternoon."
