Wood, who had spent the past few years in Toronto, passed away in Toronto General Hospital on Tuesday, October 22, following a short illness. He was 87 years of age.Born in England, Mr. Wood came to this country and to West Gwillimbury in 1903, where he engaged in farming. In 1933 he married Eunice Scanlon of West Gwillimbury, who predeceased him in 1950 and at the time of her death he retired from the farm but continued to live in the Bradford district until recent years.A friendly man, with a pleasant personality, he was well liked by all who knew him.Mr. Wood was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Coulson's Hill, and a member of Simcoe Masonic Lodge No. 79, for a long period of years.The funeral was held on Thursday, October 24, from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home. His rector, Rev. E. R. Woolley, conducted the services and interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
