Description : The community sent condolences to the family of Helen Siebert who passed away Thursday, March 5 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She was the beloved wife of Jack Siebert of Lefroy, and dear mother of Arthur Siebert of Toronto, Ken Siebert of Mississauga, Fred Siebert of Toronto, Robert Siebert of Toronto, and one daughter, Sharon Siebert of Lefroy. She was the loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also mourned by two brothers Ed Wahl and Lou Wahl and two sisters Jean (Whal) Simchuck and Adele (Wahl) Skirok. The funeral service was held at Jennett Funeral Home in Barrie March 9. Interment took place at the Sixth Line Cemetery in Innisfil. She will be sadly missed by all her friends as she was active in all senior social clubs in the area and always ready to give a helping hand at any event and for anyone. She also had a way of charming the fish in Lake Simcoe and she and her husband Jack each had their own fish huts but you would often see Helen fishing over an open hole out of the huts on the lake. Friends from Toronto came up and went out with them. The men would catch a few but Helen always seemed to get the bigger and better catch nine out of ten times. She didn't have to go to Florida in winter for a tan. Come spring she had a better tan than those that went south.Next to her family, fishing was her second love. She even missed her club's euchre in the afternoons to be out on that lake fishing. She was no sissy. She cleaned all her fish and most of the men's, too. In the freezer they went for many a treat later for family and friends.(Lefroy Bell Ewart News)
