Padre Hopkins had a distinguished 32 year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, including service with the RCHA in Korea in 1953 and the first Canadian contingent of the United Nations Emergency Force in the Sinai. "Suddenly as a result of an accident on Tuesday, March 27, 2001. Kyle Andrews, in his 41st year, of RR6 Aylmer, formerly of Bradford. Beloved husband of Carol, loving Daddy of Katie and Ezra. Loving son of Barbara of Bradford and Harold of Haliburton. Dear brother of Debbie and Ron Vink, Dianne Andrews and friend John Keast. Shawn and Michelin Horner. Dear son-in-law of Don and Shirley Campbell. Special uncle to Rebecca, Cor, Nicholas, Chad and Owen. Dear nephew to Earle and Madeline Bowles. Memorial Service was held at Straffordville United Church, Saturday, March 31.

Evans, D. Arthur (former MPP for Simcoe Centre, Past Master of Simcoe Lodge #79, A.F. & A.M., Bradford). Suddenly at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on Thursday, December 14, 1989. Arthur Evans of RR#2, Bradford in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Eileen Dixon and the late Audrey Kerr. Dear father of John, Don, Robin and Cathy Arruda, dear brother of Norma Noble of Bond Head. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St. Bradford. Service was held in the chapel on Monday, December 18, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. Interment St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill. Donations to the Cardiac Care Unit at York County Hospital Foundation, Newmarket, would be appreciated.

I'm finally here! Elinor and Steve Geniole (Schlarb) are tickled pink with the arrival of Alisha Bete, making her entrance on December 20, 1990 [sic] at 9:25 p.m. and weighint in a 7 lbs. 12 ozs.
Proud grandparents are Elizabeth Schlarb from Bradford and Henry Schlarb from Toronto and Sue and Ron Geniole fromKeswick. Great grandmother Pearl Geniole from Keswick.
Thanks to the nurses on the Maternity Ward and Drs. Joutsie and Rouselle, York County Hospital.

Dennis and Isobel Roughley are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Sandra, to Paul Jarzylo, son of Richard and Marion Jarzylo. The service was held at Bradford United Church, July 16, 1988. Sandra and Paul are residing in West Gwillimbury.

Highway 11 accident kills Gilford woman

"Gilford - a Gilford woman was killed and two persons were sent to hospital in a traffic accident Wednesday (Jan. 14).
Jean Taylor, 69, was fatally injured when the car she was driving southbound on Highway 11 struck another head on, Bradford OPP report.
The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m., near the 11th Concession. Mrs. Taylor's car was on the wrong side of the road, police report.
Raoul Tremblay, 76, of Churchill, was driving the northbound car. He and his daughter Violet were taken to York County Hospital.
Approximately $14,000 damage was done to the two car.
Bradford OPP are investigating the accident. No charges have been laid."

ABREU, Jose, Francisco -- At Sunnybrook Medical Centre, Toronto, on Thursday, November 6, 1986. Beloved husband of Gisella and dear father of Carlos, Jose, Fernando, Mario, Arnald and Alice. Funeral mass was held at St. John's Chrystotom Church, Newmarket, on Friday, November 7. Interment St. John's Cemetery.

Accident still under investigation

"Occurrences investigated by the officers of the Bradford OPP during the week included 11 traffic accidents in which one person was killed and six persons were injured.
On the morning of Nov. 1, Nancy Thedoru of Toronto was killed when the car driven by her husband George was involved in a collision with a pick up truck driven by Frank Anzil of Klienburg. Mr. Anzil's wife Tina was a passenger in the truck. Mr. Theodoru remains at Sunnybrook Medical Centre.
Mr. Anzil is in intensive care in stable condition at York County Hospital. His wife has been transferred to St. Michael's Hospital.
OPP are still investigating the accident, which occurred at Highways 11 and 89, near Gilford. No charges have been laid as yet.
Bradford OPP investigated 42 occurrences during the week, including two drivers charged with excess alcohol. Also, five liquor related charges were laid."

Wilbert Keith Orr, 75, of Bond Head, died Friday, January 18 at the York County Hospital, Newmarket.
Son of Andrew Orr and Jane Campbell, both of Dufferin County, he was born Feb. 16, 1909 in Tecumseth Township. He was married Mar. 8, 1941 in the bride's home to Jean Lisk and has lived on the fifth line of Tecumseth and in Bond Head....Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Donna, Mrs. Andrew Rabiewsky, two grandchildren,three sisters, Marion Craog, of Tornoto, Maida Ritchie, of Beeton and Madeline Porritt, of Gilford and one brother, Wm. J. Orr, of Tottenham....
