"A large crowd was on hand for the 15th annual graduation exercises held at Sir William Osler School last Thursday. Thirty seven grade eight students received their graduation diplomas. The graduation diplomas were presented by the principal, Mel Mitchell and teacher Jim Breen. A number of other awards were also presented. Winner of the penmanship award, presented by Miss Ethyle Breedon, was Pamela Barnes. The citizenship award, donated by the Imperial Daughters of the Empire, was Kevin Horner. The award was presented by Mrs. June Brown. The Tec-We-Gwill Women's Institute Trophy for English, presented by Mrs. Bruce Keffer went to Douglas Jessop. He also won the Fisher's Corner Old Boy's Trophy for general proficiency, presented by Mrs. Orville Hughes. The valedictorian address was made by Jan McQuiggan. "Brenda J. Breen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Breen, Bradford, graduated recently in Nursing from Osler Campus, Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology, Toronto."

"Robert Brown of West Gwillimbury Township, recently joined the ranks of relatively elite professionals. Earlier this year Mr. Brown was given accreditation as an appraiser by the Appraisal Institute of Canada. It took him 10 years and a lot of study to attain the position. Brown says his new status won't change much. He points out that he only has six or so years until his retirement and he is happy working for the ministry. However, he didn't completely rule out the possibility of hanging out a shingle and going to work for himself. But right now, he is going to sit back and enjoy life."

"Bradford District High School has one Ontario Scholar this year: Cathy Lucas of RR 1, Lefroy, with an average of 80.2 per cent. Eighteen-year-old Cathy will go on to York University in the fall to study physical education and mathematics, but she said Monday that she hasn't made up her mind about what she wants to do when she graduates. Ontario scholars receive a $100 cheque to help defray the costs of expenses in university."

"Elizabeth Margaret Copeland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Copeland of Newton Robinson, graduated from St. Joseph's Campus of George Brown College July 18th, 1975. Beth will be joining the staff of Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton."

"Debra Ann Shipley, daughter of Corporal and Mrs. Bruce Shipley of Grand Bend, Ontario and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Campbell of Bradford, recently graduated from Sheridan College School of Nursing in Mississauga. She has accepted a position at Toronto General Hospital."

"Miss Barbara Stewart, former Bradford public school teacher, has been awarded the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal. Miss Stewart, who retired last year after 36 years of teaching, said from her Markham home Friday, "I don't know how I got it or who recommended me. It came by registered mail last month and it was a complete surprise." She joins Bradford lawyer Charles Evans as a recipient of the medal, awarded to persons who have made outstanding contributions to the community. She said she had just returned from a trip to Germany, and would soon go back to Bradford public school for a day to tell the students about her trip. As for retirement, "I'm just loving every bit of it.""
