Duncan, Eric -- at York County Hospital, Newmarket on Tuesday, October 13, 1987, Eric Duncan of Bradford in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Hazel Schoester, dear father of Iris (Mrs. Jack Everitt) of Saudi Arabia, Ross and his wife Barbara of Bancroft, Ellen (Mrs. Gerald Robson) of Alliston, Carol (Mrs. Gordon Campbell) of Bradford, Peter and his wife Linda of Cookstown, and Brenda (Mrs. Michael Weber) of Stroud. Dear uncle of Ronald Schoester of Lindsay. Also survived by eleven grandchildren. Friends called at Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Service was held in the chapel on Friday, October 16, 1987 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Thornhill Cemetery. A Masonic Service was held in the chapel under the Auspices of Manitoba Lodge --236, A.F. & A.M., Cookstown on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Donations to the C.A.T. Scan at York County Hospital, Newmarket would be appreciated.

Buck Griffith formerly of Bradford in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Anita Collings. Dear father of Yvonne and her husband Norman Smart of Newmarket. Dear grandfather of Susan (Mrs. Leslie Laflamme) of Stroud, Lori (Mrs. Glenn Brethet) of Tottenham, Maureen (Mrs. Stephen Buckland) of Queensville and Louise of Newmarket. Dear great-grandfather of Heather and Sarah Brethet and Jeffery Laflamme. Dear brother of Etherl (Sis) Wilson of Newmarket and pre-deased [sic] by John Griffith and Norine Kirk. Service was held at Trinity Anglican Church, Bradford on Monday April 27, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Bertha Howlett of Gilford and formerly of Leaside, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late James B. McLaughlan [sic (spelled McLauchlan later in this article)] and the late Peter Howlett. Loving mother of Fred McLauchlan [sic] and his wife Evelyn of West Hill, and Jean (Mrs. John O'Neill) of Gilford. Dear grandmother of Donald McLauchlan, Lynn Murphy, and Kevin O'Neill. Dear great-grandmother of Ian and Cynthia McLauchlan and Marie, Myles, and James Murphy. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough on Thursday at 11 a.m. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Kilkenny, Frank obituary

Description : Mr. Frank Kilkenny appeared to make good progress during the first few days following the accident which necessitated the amputation of part of his leg, and hope was extended that he might recover, although it was realized that he was still in a state of shock. The accident occurred on Saturday and by Thursday a change was noted and on Friday he passed away. Mr. Kilkenny was born and educated in Bradford and he took over the business of his father. In 1938 he celebrated the centennial of the Kilkenny funeral and furniture business in Bradford and continued in that business until his retirement, when his son continued with the furniture part of the business. He was secretary-treasurer of Bradford Public School Board for many years; was a member and past master of Simcoe Masonic Lodge No. 79 and he received a 50-year jewel from that Lodge recently in recognition of his long term of membership; a member of the Orange Order and the I.O.F., as well as a curler and lawn bowler. His church was the Presbyterian. Mr. Kilkenny was predeceased by his wife, the former Lila Neilly, in July, 1928. He is survived by one son, Keith, of Bradford, and one daughter, Mrs. J. M. Booth (Ruth) of Bradford; also five sisters, Mrs. Howard Carscadden (Bertha), Stayner; Mrs. D. E. McColl (Emily) and Mrs. T. H. Carter (Laura), Bradford; Mrs. George Atkinson (Helen), Mt. Albert, and Mrs. Lorne Arnold (Evelyn), Cookstown. Three sisters predeceased him, Mrs. Jewell (Clara), Mrs. Wm. Simpkin (Lulu) and Alma, who died in infancy. The private funeral was held on June 24 from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home, with Rev. F. G. MacTavish conducting the funeral services. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.The pallbearers were Ralph Jewell, Fred Wilson, John Arnold, Wray Carscadden, R. H. Devereux, Art Lloyd.

Service was held in the chapel on Sunday, July 31, 1994 at 1:30 p.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Tecumseth. A Masonic Service was held under the auspices of Simcoe Lodge A.F. & A.M. #79, G.R.C., Bradford on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
