One of the worst snow storms Bradford had seen happened in 1947. The snow was so high in some spots that you could touch the phone lines. This picture shows Lew Campbell atop one of the drifts, somewhere in the north end of Bradford. Mrs Gladys Kirkup (right) was one of two teachers honored last week at a retirement party at the Honorable Earl Rowe School. With Mrs. Kirkup is Mrs. Iva Bell, a former school teacher, who taught Mrs. Kirkup in a one-room school.
