Sister of Ruth Fowler of Aurora, and predeceased by Marion Brethet and Charlie Cerswell of Bond Head. Aunt of Bill Brethet and his wife Margaret of R.R. 3 Tottenham, Don Brethet and his wife Susan of Milton, Joan Cerswell of Bond Head, Ann and her husband William White of Scarborough, Lynda and her husband Gary Renegar of North Carolina, James Cerswell and his wife Kelly of Bond Head, and John Fowler of Aurora. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation and service at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford. Interment in Bond Head Cemetery. The community was saddened to hear of the death of one of the pioneers of this area and send condolences to her family in the area. Pearl Rebecca Chappel passed away peacefully at Eureka Chalet Retirement, Barrie on Saturday, Jan. 26 Pearl Rebecca Hardy in her 90th year, beloved wife of the lat Harry Chappel. Dear mother of William Chappel and his wife Ethel; Elizabeth (Mrs. Calvin Gibbons) both of Barrie and Shirley (Mrs. Allen Prophett) of Scarborough. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Complete funeral service at Innisfil Community Church was held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 1pm. Internment [sic] in the spring at 6th Line Cemetery, Innisfil. She was a true pioneer being born in Lefroy and marrie Harry Chappel Oct. 20, 1920 by Rev. Chapley of Stroud at Lefroy. She also had four sisters and one brother born in Lefroy. They were Sarah (Mrs . MarshallAtkinson), Susan (Mrs. Wm. Ruffett), Jack Hardy who was married to Gertrude Everton of Gilford; Georgina (Mrs. Bob Gibbons), Phoebe (Mrs. Frank Chappel). She was the last of that family....

Beloved husband of the late Mabel May Saint and dear father of James, Bradford, Marion (Mrs. Oliver Gould), Newmarket, Eileen (Mrs. Russell Curtis), Torrance, John, Schomberg, Gordon, Bradford, May (Mrs. William Covert), St. Catharines. Loving brother of Frank, Bowling Green, Ohio; Lewis, Clarkston, Michigan; and Albert, Windham Centre. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Description : The death occurred at York County Hospital, Newmarket, on Tuesday, January 4, of Mrs. Lawrence Church of Bradford. Mrs. Church had been in poor health for several years, during the early years of which she had been cared for at her home here by members of her family. In more recent months she had been with her daughter, Mrs. O. Gould in Newmarket, from whose home she was moved to the hospital a few weeks before her death. Mrs. Church was the former Mabel May Saint and was born in Bradford and had spent her entire life here where she was well liked and held in high esteem by all who knew her. On April 26, 1911, she married Lawrence Church of Bradford, who survives her, with their family of three sons and three daughters, namely, James and Gordon of Bradford, John of Schomberg, Mrs. O. Gould (Marion) of Newmarket, Mrs. R. Curtis (Eileen) of Kirkland Lake, and Mrs. W. Covert (May) of Barrie; and fourteen grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. W. Reeves (Sadie), and Mrs. Jas. Armstrong (Jane), and one brother, Leonard Saint, all of Bradford. Mrs. Church was a devoted mother, wife and sister, and will be sadly missed in her home and among members of her family, among whom she was held in sincere affection. She will also be missed by townspeople, especially in the women's groups, where she had long been a faithful worker in the W.A. of Trinity Anglican Church and Bradford Women's Institute.She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church.The funeral was held from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon. Services were conducted by her rector, Rev. W. S. Johnson and interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. Six nephews were the pallbearers, namely, Norman and Roy Church and Larry Saldeld, all of Pontiac, Mich., and Ken, Mel and Roy Saint of Bradford.
