Description : After a lengthy and painful illness, James Loblaw (Jimmie) Hipwell, 10 years old, and elder son of Mr. C. (Ted) and Dorothy Hipwell, died February 11 at his parents' home, Bond Head. Jimmy was a very alert and talented youngster, a pupil at the Bond Head school, and his early passing is most sad and distressing. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to his sorrowing parents and little brother, Reggie. That sympathy was shown by the large attendance at the funeral service held at Emmanuel United Church, Bond Head, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon last, and by the great number of floral tributes received at his home. The service was in charge of Rev. E.A. McIlwain, assisted by Rev. C.R.P. Hearn. A solo was rendered by Jimmy Thompson, Its's Good-Night Here but Good-Morning Up There." Pallbearers were Walter Reynolds Wallace Reynolds Verle Stewart Jimmy Thompson Billy Breedon and Alan McLean. The interment took place in the Hipwell plot at the Bond Head Cemetery."

Description : After an illness of about two weeks, following a stroke, Mrs. W.J. Griffiths passed away in Newmarket Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Griffith's maiden name was Annie Thomas and she was born and educated in Wales. She came to Canada in 1911 and in Toronto she met and married J.W. Griffiths, now of Gilford. About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Griffith moved to Gilford. Mrs. Griffith is survived by her husband and one son, Thomas Hugh, of Gilford, in which district the family is well and most favourably known.An Anglican in religion, the funeral services, held from the T. Kilkenny & Son Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon, were conducted by Rev. H.G. Blake, with interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.Six nephews were pallbearers, namely, Thos. Veith, Wm. Ippitson, Wm. Saunders, Clyde Stewart, Howard Reeves and Mel Gallinger, all of Toronto.
