Description : At his home, 437 Main St., Saskatoon, Sask., on August 27, 1946, Edmund Garrett, in his 93rd year. The funeral service was held on Thursday, August 29, from the Park Funeral Chapel, Saskatoon, conducted by Rev. E.W. MacQuarrie, assisted by Rev. A.B.B. Moore.

Description : Elsie Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Archibald Thomson, of Newmarket, to Harold F. Garrett, editor and publisher of the Davidson Leader, Davidson, Saskatchewan, and second son of Mr. & Mrs. E. Garrett, of Bradford. The wedding took place at the residence of the bride's parents. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Blackler. The bride was attended by her sister, Florence. The couple will live in Davidson.

Description : A resident of Saskatchewan for 44 years, Mrs. Susanna Garrett died Saturday, May 29, at her home. She was 94 years of age. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Saskatoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex. Dolan officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Garrett was the widow of Edmund Garrett, former long-time publisher of the Watrous Signal who died in 1946. She was born at Bradford, Ont., in 1860 and spent her childhood near Thornbury, Ont. Returning to Bradford she completed her education and taught school there. Her husband was publisher of The Witness for 34 years and the members of their family were all born in Bradford. She and her husband moved to Watrous in 1910 and came to Saskatoon 17 years ago. Mrs. Garrett was active in church work, especially in the Sunday school and in the WMS of which she was a life member. She was a member of Westminster United Church. Surviving are four sons, George of Toronto; Harold and Leon of Vancouver; Roland of Ottawa; five daughters, Mrs. E. M. Collins of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. C. H. Jackson and Mrs. A. J. Heide of Vancouver, Mrs. J. J. Colwell of Langdon, Alta., and Olive of Saskatoon. Mrs. Jean Stewart, Saskatoon, is a granddaughter and Mrs. M. Schafer and Gail Stewart are great-granddaughters. A sister, Miss Bella Goodfellow, returned missionary from India, also survives.

Description : Mary, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Reilly, wed Adney, son of Mrs, Howard and the late Arthur William Howard. Ceremony at Trinity Anglican Church, Bradford. Rev. H.G. Blake officiated. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Albert Wood. Mr. Albert Wood was groomsman. Reception for the immediate family was held at the home of the bride. The couple will reside in Saskatchewan. No date given for the wedding.

Howard, Mary Josephine Reilly obituary

Description : Suddenly at Minton, Saskatchewan, as the result of an accident. Had been driving a tractor when it hit a stone, throwing her off and crushing her beneath the wheels. She died instantly. Wife of Adney Howard for a little over a year. The couple had recently been to visit her brothers and were only home a few weeks before the accident occurred. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Reilly of West Gwillimbury. Sister of Mrs. Fildey, Mrs. Albert Wood, Mitchell, Alex, and Clarence. Funeral from the home of her brothers to St. Paul's Church, Coulson's Hill. Service conducted by Rev. H.G. Blake. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Selby, Sarah Elizabeth obituary

Description : The funeral service for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Selby, 82, who passed away in the Eston Union Hospital, August 29th, was held in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Kerrobert, on Saturday, August 31st, with Rev. R. S. McAdam, Vicar of St. Mary's Church, Kindersley, officiating. Mrs. Selby was born in Bradford, Ont. She was married to W. A. Wesley Selby, also of Bradford, in 1902, and came west to Virden, Manitoba, in 1910, then to Kerrobert to homestead in 1911. She taught school in Ontario before her marriage and again for three years after coming to Kerrobert. Mrs. Selby was a member of the committee of trustees and First Board of Directors of the United Farmers of Canada, Saskatchewan section. She took an active part in the organization work of the Saskatchewan Co-Op. Poultry Producers' Ltd. She was always keenly interested in the church and community affairs. She was on the Board of Trustees in the McKellar S.D. for some time. She was a Past Mistress and Life Member of the I.O.B.A. at Kerrobert, and of late years had been a member of the Eston Lodge of the L.O.B.A. Mrs. Selby is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Beth) Walper of Eston; and three sons, Clifton Wellesly of Kerrobert, Francis Wardle of Saskatoon, and Robert William of Edmonton; one brother, Dan Collings of Bradford, Ont., eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were all sons of old neighbours, Norman and Everett Mechan, Stanley Lehman, Robert Benson, Ralph and Marvin Wright. Interment took place beside her late husband in the Kerrobert Cemetery, with Briggs' Funeral Home of Eston in charge. (Kerrobert Sun)

Weese, The Pas, Manitoba, and three sons, Clifton and Robert with whom he resided and Frances of Assiniboia, Saskatchwan.
