William J. Sutherland, 78, of Bond Head died Jan. 8, 1985 at YorkCounty Hospital. Son of the late John Sutherland, of West Gwillimbury Township and the late Mary Noble of Yorkshire, England, hewas born Sept. 17, 1909 in Bond Head. He was married Sept 21, 1935 in Tecumseth Township to the late Elva Bradley...He was predeceased by his wife on Dec. 26, 1984. Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Brethet, of RR3 Tottenham, Marian Davey, of RR1 Bradford, and Doris Colborn, of Gilford, one son, John Sutherland, of Midland, one sister, Mary Breedon, of RR1 Bradford, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild....

USHER, James F (Jim) at York County Hospital, Newmarket on Sunday, Febrary [sic] 25, 1990. Jim Usher of Bond Head in his 67th year.
Beloved husband of the late Lorna Dixon, dear brother of Doreen (Mrs. Wilmot Markson) of Schomberg and William of Bradford. Dear friend of Ella Langford of Bradford. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Street, Bradford. Service was held in chapel on Tuesday, February 27, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.
Donations to York County Hospital Foundation, Newmarket, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

"STODDART, VERA JANEL Peacefully passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Lindsay on Thursday, February 21, 2019. Vera Stoddart (nee Fenwick) of Lindsay and formerly of Bond Head and Toronto in her 81st year. Leloved wife of Wilson for almost 59 years. Loving mom of Harry (Silvia) and Sandra (Peter) Labor. Loving grandma of Connor (Rebecca), Cavan, Harrison, Abigayle and Rebekah; Teigan and Sarah. Cherished sidter of Roy (Elaine) Fenwick. She will be dearly missed. She met life's challenges with grace, a quiet conviction, and persecerance. From her humble beginnnings as a city girl, she earned the respect of the farming community such that she became the first woman honoured as the Simcoe County Farmer of the Year (19990). She loved life on the farm, cherished her family and extended community, was a dedicated historian, and found beauty in her natural surroundings. Every day that she was able to share in the splendors of nature was another day well spent. She will be sadly missed by the countless organizations for which she volunteered. Friends may be received at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford (1-800-209-4803) for visitation on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. FUneral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment Bond Head Cemetery. In Vera's memory, donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto."

Watson, Mrs. William John (Ida) obituary

Description : Ida Jane Banting Watson was the eldest of five daughters of Charles and Jane McDermott Banting, and was born in Tecumseth Township, on a farm now owned by her son. Later, her father bought the old Willoughby farm on the townline, between Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury. When here she attended the then Methodist Church at Newton Robinson, where she added much to the service by her gift of song. She married John Watson and went to live in the Scotch Settlement, West Gwillimbury Township, where she brought up a family of five, namely, Carol and Marion who predeceased her; Jean of Toronto; Isabel, now Mrs. Norman Coutts, Cookstown; and Charles, who now owns the farm granted to her great-grandfather, James Banting, by the Crown. Leaving the Settlement they moved to a smaller farm near Bond Head. While there she attended the United Church at Bond Head and was helpful in the Woman's Missionary Society. Mrs. Watson was a devoted wife and loving mother, being well known in the district because of her sympathy with and great interest in the affairs of her friends. She had been ill for many months, and passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, on March 10. The funeral was to the cemetery in connection with the Presbyterian Church, Scotch Settlement, West Gwillimbury Township.

Jack Wilson, 65, of RR3 Tottenham died Monday, Jan. 21, 1985 at his home. Sone of Daniel and Nita Wilson, both of England, he was born July 27, 1920 in Nobleton. He worked as a farmer most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie McLeod, three sons, Harold, Wayne and Brian, one daughter, Brenda, his mother Nita Wilson, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at the Lathangue and Skwarchuck Funeral Home, Bradford with Rev. Henry Dahlin officiating. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.
