Description : Mrs. David Adams who was known to many here, being the mother of Mrs. Allan Crake of Bradford, passed away in Picton General Hospital on Wednesday, August 31.Mrs. Adams lived for many years in Innisfil township, and was a resident of Thornton during most of her lifetime. Being both capable and willing to lend her assistance to all worthy endeavours, Mrs. Adams had taken an active part in women's organization work. During the war years she worked with the Red Cross, serving as president of Townline Thornton group and a member of Red Cross Circle, Knock, Ontario. She was a member of Churchill United Church and a Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society of the United Church of Canada.During the past fifteen years Mrs. Adams had lived in Napanee with her son and his family.Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband David; one son, Delmore, of Napanee; one daughter, Lillian, (Mrs. A. Crake) of Bradford; one sister, Mrs. F. G. Simpson of Beamsville; three grandsons, Flying Officer Rae Adams of Winnipeg, Paul Adams of Napanee and Toronto, and Delmore Crake of Bradford.A private service was held in Napanee on September 1, with her minister, Rev. C. D. McLillian, officiating. Upon arrival at Aurora, the funeral was held from Thompson's Funeral Home, Victoria St., on Friday, September 2, where Rev. F. G. MacTavish of Bradford officiated, with interment in Aurora Cemetery.The pallbearers were her immediate family and two nephews, namely Delmore Adams, Paul Adams, both of Napanee; Allan Crake, and Delmore Crake, Bradford; Milton O'Dell, Toronto and Fraleigh Crowe, Barrie.
