Description : Died at Toronto General Hospital at the age of 63 after being stricken a few days ago. Husband of Dorcas Elizabeth Sharpe. Brother of Rev. David G. Atkinson, South Africa; Rev. John N. Atkinson, Arizona; Mrs. Elizabeth J. Thompson, London, Ont.; and Mrs. Ena Jackson, Mono Mills. Born in Liverpool, England, of Irish parentage. Educated at St. Peter's Church School, Liverpool, and the Irish Church Mission, Dublin, Ireland. Came to Canada as a young man and was a graduate of Wycliffe College. Served for six years in Baffin Land, diocese of the Arctic. Assistant rector at St. Anne's Anglican Church, Toronto before becoming Rector of St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown, where he has served for 21 years. Immediate past president of Wycliffe College Alumni. Funeral service from St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown on October 16 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Cookstown.
