Description : A most highly esteemed and well known resident of the Bond Head district for a period of about sixty years, Charles William Watt passed away at his home, 1580 Bathurst St., Toronto, on Thursday, March 19. Mr. Watt had been in failing health for some time but had been up and around his home until two weeks before his death. Born at Beeton 82 years ago, the late Mr. Watt received his education in Beeton schools and resided there until twenty years of age when he came to Bond Head. In 1907 he married Kathleen Smith of that village and Mr. and Mrs. Watt lived and farmed in Tecumseth near Bond Head, until 1941 when they retired at Bond Head. A little over a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Watt joined their daughter, Miss Jane Fair (Fairy) in Toronto and with her took up residence in that city. Mr. Watt was always active in church and Sunday School work. In 1902 he was made an elder in the Presbyterian Church of Bond Head and continued in this office in the United Church, thus he was a church elder for fifty years. He was superintendent or a teacher in the Sunday School for over 60 years. He also served as secretary-treasurer of Bond Head Cemetery Board for a number of years. Possessing a kindly and friendly disposition, Mr. Watt had a wide circle of friends and though never aspiring to municipal office he took an active and helpful interest in affairs of the community. Mr. Watt is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, namely, Miss Jane Fair (Fairy) of Toronto; William of Bond Head; Anne (Mrs. Jack Hughes) of Churchill; and James of Hamilton.The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the home of his son, William, at Bond Head. The services were conducted by the present minister of the church assisted by a former minister, Rev. F. W. Newell, and Rev. W. J. Burton, now of Hillsdale. Interment was in Bond Head Cemetery.The pallbearers were W. E. Brooks, Gordon Brethet, Les. Holmes, Chas. Cerswell, Duncan McArthur and John Lloyd. The flower bearers were Elwell McKay, Jas. Smith, Percy Reynolds, Cardy McLean, Alf. McLean, Kenneth Holmes, Adrian Bateman, Roy Bell. Among those from a distance attending the funeral on Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tomlin (sister of Mrs. Watt), Mrs. Chas. Davis, Mr. Allan Davis, Mr. Jack Davis, Mrs. Austin Faulkner, and two representatives of the Jenny Lind Candy Company, Messrs. Wm. Taylor, Larry Reid, and Jas. Bushey, of Hamilton.

Charlie Watson of Schomberg, beloved husband of Mildred Ferguson and the late Dorothy Scott. Dear brother of Jean Watson of Aurora and Isobel (Mrs Norman Coutts of Barrie). Also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends called at Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Street, Bradford. Service was held in the chapel Monday, May 18, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Barrie Union Cemetery. Masonic Service was held under the auspices of Simcoe Lodge - 79 A.F. and A.M. on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

VERNON, Joseph suddenly at Penetang on Thursday, March 9, 1989. Joseph Vernon of Simcoe Manor Beeton in his 82nd year. Dearly beloved husband of the late Annie Norah Vernon. Dear father of William of Bradford, Joan (Mrs. M. Bowles) of Cookstown, Douglas of Cookstown and Wayne of Bradford. Predeceased by daughter Rose Ann, brother of Sam of Holland Landing, Spencer of Orr and Harry of Port McNicholl. Loving grandfather of Cheryl, Bonnie, Mark, Paul, David, Nicole, Tracy, Sonia and Bradley. Great grandpa of Lisa, Matthew and Kyle. Friends called at the Paul F. Kent Funeral Home, Cookstown. Funeral service was held at St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Interment St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery. Description : A well known resident of Bradford during a long period of years, Mr. Percy Proctor Stephenson passed away in Simcoe Manor on Wednesday, August 31, 1966. Mr. Stephenson went to Simcoe Manor nearly four years ago where he enjoyed fairly good health until suffering a stroke, and although he appeared to make a good recovery it was realized lately that he could not live much longer. Born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, October 7, 1886, the deceased came to Ontario in 1893. He married Dora Elizabeth Metcalfe in 1907 and they returned to Saskatchewan, where they farmed until coming back here in 1923. Mr. Stephenson was predeceased by his wife in February, 1957. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Etha Tuscon of Victoria, B.C., and by a half-brother, Francis, of Powell River, B.C.A. Masonic service was held on Thursday evening preceding the funeral, which was held from the Lewis Funeral Home, Bradford, with Rev. D. J. Lute of Bradford United Church conducting the service.Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. The pallbearers were Messrs. Erich Meier, Wm. Melbourne, Allen Proctor, Carl Black, Vernon Stephenson and James Stephenson.The flower bearers were members of the Black River Hunt Club, to which the deceased belonged for many years, namely, Fred Miller, Frank Smeltzer, Alan Crake, Fred Collings, Gordon Compton, John Hambly and Howard Black.

SCHROEDER, Emily on August 12, 1993 at Simcoe Manor, Beeton. Dear mother of Barrie Schroeder and his wife Margaret of Bradford. Loving grandmother of Wendy Snowball and Janet Domingues. Rested at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, with service in the chapel on April 12, followed by interment in Bond Head Cemetery. Legion Service under the direction of Branch 171 Alliston will be held in the chapel on April 11.
