Coulson's Hill

Coulson's Hill

The hamlet of Coulson's Hill was named after the Coulson family who settled here in 1822. They donated the land for the two church properties and cemeteries. The Anglican church was built in 1854, the Presbyterian church in1857. The hamlet was the home for a hotel, stagecoach shop, a blacksmith shop and an Orange Hall.

BELL, Mabel Irene, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontarion, Sunday November 22nd, 1992, Mabel Hill of Gilford in her 95th year. Beloved wife of Harold Bell. Dear mother of Lylia and her husband Bus Culbert of Bradford, Helen and her husband Earl Gilmore of Lefroy. Predeceased by her sisters [sic] Keith MacLean, Cassie Scott, Lylia Hudson and her brother William Hill. Dear Baba of Nancy Young, Jim Culbert, Susan Bowles, Cheryl Armstrong and Douglas Gilmore. Dear Great-Baba to Robert and Michael Young, Todd and Kevin Armstrong and Andrew and Daniel Gilmore. Friends may call at the Lathangue and Skwarchuk Funeral Home. 30 Simcoe St. Bradford. For visitation on Wednesday fro 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill. Friends may call at Lathangue and Skwarchuck Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St. Bradford for visitation Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Service in the chapel Tuesday 2 p.m. Interment Coulson's Hill Cemetery. Donation to Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation would be appreciated.
