Description : Elizabeth Irene (Betty), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gilroy of Cookstown, to Roy Neil Downey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Downey of Alliston. The wedding took place at Cookstown United Church. Rev. J. C. Kellogg officiated.The maid of honour was Miss Marion Mobley of Toronto. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Ivan Wright of Cookstown and Mrs. William Kell of Gilford, are sisters of the bride. The ring bearers, John and Douglas Kell, are nephews of the bride. George Alderson of Alliston, cousin of the groom, was groomsman. The ushers were Earl Gilroy, brother of the bride, and Elwood Nicol of Alliston.Mr. and Mrs. Downey will reside on the groom's farm near Alliston.
