Description : Sadie Sadako, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Yoshihei Yoshimura of Bradford, to Stanley Owen Fong of Fort Sashatchewan, Alberta, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Fong of Edmonton, Alta. The wedding took place at Queen
Street United Church, Toronto. Rev. Shimizu, a friend of both the bride and groom, officiated.The bride was attended by Mrs. Irene Ogura of Toronto. The groom's brother, Mr. Edward Fong of Flin Flon, Manitoba, was groomsman. The ushers were the bride's brother, Mr. Dick Yoshimura, and Mr. James Toguri, student of Toronto University.Mr. and Mrs. Fong will reside at Fort Saskatchewan where as a mining engineer, graduate of the University of Alberta, the groom holds a position of responsibility.The bride is a graduate in nursing from Women's College Hospital, Toronto, and is a young lady of whom her Bradford friends are very proud. Mr. and Mrs. Yoshimura and their then small daughter and son were among the Japanese people moved from Vancouver eastward in war time. They came to Bradford friendless, but their desire for the friendship of people here and their personal charm soon won them friends and popularity. The family attended Bradford schools and upon graduation the bride went into training as a nurse. Her brother Dick is now a student at O.A.C., Guelph.
