Description : A funeral service was held January 25 in Moncton, N.B. for Mrs. Doris Steeves of Bradford who died January 21 at York County Hospital.Mrs. Steeves was 67.Relatives and friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home in Bradford on Friday, January 22, with a prayer service held in the chapel.Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary also paid tribute to Mrs. Steeves who was a legion member for 20 years.The body was taken to Moncton where a funeral service was held on January 25, with Rev. W. T. Crowther of St. George's Anglican Church presiding.The soloist was Mr. Corey Smith, and the hymns were The Old Rugged Cross, and Nearer My God to Thee.Mrs. Steeves was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Plummber Sanborn. She is survived by one son Hollis Steeves of Mississauga and two grandchildren.She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ronald (Thora) Purdy of Angus.Attending the funeral were Mr. Hollis Steeves and Mr. Ronald Purdy of Ontario, and Mr. Baxter Steeves and Mr. and Mrs. George Steeves, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Gerrior of Nova Scotia.
