Description : A resident of the Scotch Settlement and Bond Head during the past forty-five years, Joseph Wilson passed away at his home in Bond Head, on Sunday, March 27, 1955, following an illness of about two months.Born at Lloydtown nearly 84 years ago Mr. Wilson lived in the Lloydtown district until coming to the Scotch Settlement where he farmed on
Concession 6 for forty years before retiring to Bond Head five years ago.During his residence in the Scotch Settlement Mr. Wilson was a member of the Presbyterian Church in the Settlement, and since moving to Bond Head he attended the Anglican Church in that village. A good friend and neighbour Mr. Wilson lived a very quiet life.Married to Rachael Brown of Schomberg fifty-three years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were spared to celebrate their Golden Wedding.Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife; five daughters, namely, Mrs. H. Howden (Olive) of Toronto; Mrs. W. Gilmore (Mary) of St. Catherines; Mrs. N. Fisher (Ferne) of Long Branch; Miss Adele in Toronto and Miss Margaret at home; one son, Donald, of Victoria, B.C.; 12 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Leslie Wilson of Aurora and Robert Wilson of Lloydtown.The funeral service was held from Trinity Anglican Church, Bond Head, on Tuesday, March 29, with interment in Friends' Cemetery, Schomberg. Rev. C. R. P. Hearn conducted the funeral services.The pallbearers were four nephews, namely, Gary Wilson, Douglas Brown, Addison Black and Duncan McArthur, and two neighbours, Jack Gray and Robt. Westlake.
