Isobel Norene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ramsay of Cookstown, to Lennox, son of the Hon. W. Earl Rowe and Mrs. Rowe of Newton Robinson. The wedding took place in Cookstown Anglican Church. Rev. Harry Donaldson of Kitchener officiated.The bridal attendants were Miss Jacqueline Pogue of Toronto and Miss Carol Wilson of Alliston. The flower girls were Miss Jane Rowe and Miss Nancy Casselman, nieces of the groom. Stone Avery of Hamilton acted as groomsman and the ushers were Bradley Walker of Bradford and Peter MacVannel of Kitchener.Mr. and Mrs. Rowe will reside on the groom's farm at Newton Robinson.

Rowes Married 60 Years

Just after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, Treva Rowe and Earl Rowe, former lieutenant-governor, check the health of one of the apple trees in front of their Newton Robinson home. They were married at Newton Robinson United Church June 27, 1917, and had three children, Bill, Lennox, and Mrs. Jean Wadds. Mr. Rowe was a member of the Ontario Legislature for two years in the 1920s and then represented Dufferin-Simcoe in the House of Commons for almost 40 years. He was lieutenant-governor from 1963 to 1968. This photo appeared in the Bradford Witness and it is also in the Bradford Women's Institute Scrapbooks.
