L.H. and W.L. Campbell Lacrosse Medals - Front View

One side of two Canadian Lacrosse Association Championship medals awarded to William L. Campbell and Dr. Lewis H. Campbell. Both men were on Bradford's lacrosse team and their names are engraved on the medals (as seen in this view). Dr. Campbell won a medal for 1902 and 1905 and William won one for 1905.

Charles Evans named for jubilee medal

"Alex Haley in his recent novel, Roots, aptly illustrated the significance and importance of having a sense of where one has come from. A person who has such a sense of his genealogical history is Charles Evans, Bradford's nominee to receive the jubilee commemorative medal. Dates are special to Mr. Evans because they indicate the changes that have occurred in his family's growth and development since moving into the Bradford area more than a century ago. Mr. Evans is a fifth-generation of the Evans family to live near Bradford."

Two named for medals

" West Gwillimbury council has nominated Earl Rowe of Newton Robinson to receive one of the jubilee medals being minted by the federal government in recognition of Queen Elizabeth's 25 years on the throne. Mr. Rowe is a former MP and MPP and he was Ontario's lieutenant-governor from 1963 to 1968. Bradford council also recently nominated lawyer Charles Evans, former Warden of Simcoe County to receive a jubilee medal."
