Gilroy) and Janet; loving son of Mrs. Margaret McCague and brother of Heber George, Jim, Margaret (Mrs. L. Cummings) and Laurine (Mrs. S. Embling); in his 60th year. Rested at his home, Glen-Afton Farm, Alliston, until 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, then to St. John's United Church, Alliston, for service at 3:30 p.m. Interment Alliston Union Cemetery.

Dearly beloved wife of the late Tommy Smith. Dear sister of Roy, Ivan, Lorne and Keith Houghton. Pre-deceased by brothers Robert, Sammuel [sic], George, Stewart, Leonard and Arthur. Friends called at the Paul F. Kent Funeral Home (Hwy. 27 north) Cookstown, on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service and committal was held at Cookstown United Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment New Hope Cemetery Cambridge. In lieu of flowers donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Robinson, Dear mother of Joyce and her husband Don Robson of Baxter, Keith and his wife Fern Robinson of Cookstown, Anne and her husband Doug Keating of Alliston and Wayne and his wife Rosemarie Robinson of Loretto. Sister of Gordon Madill of Newmarket and Bill Madill of Kitchener. Survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Heidi and brothers Percy, Wallace and Harold and sister Mae. Friends called at the Paul F. Kent Funeral Home, Cookstown, Tuesday and Wednesday. Funeral service was held at St. John's Anglican Church Cookstown on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Interment St. John's Anglican Cemetery. Memorial donations to Stevenson Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Anglican Church, Pinkerton, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Dear son-in-law of Ada Watson of Bradford, brother of Grace (Mrs. Jack Church), Laura (Mrs. Charles Colton)[,] Joseph and Barbar Letts. Pre-deceased by Wes Helen (Mrs. Everet Treloar) Mary (Mrs Jack Rowe) and William Dale. Rested at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 til 9:00 p.m., Sunday. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel, 1:30 p.m. Monday followed by internment [sic] at St. John Cemetery, 6th line Tecumseth Township. Donations in Lawson's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Electric Meter Register

An Electric Meter Register book provided by the Department. Bond Head appears in the register, as do parts of New Tecumseth. It provides an example of the way such information was tracked at the time and how it would have been tracked in the Bradford West Gwillimbury area.
According to an Electricity Inspection Service hand-out from the same time period as the book: "A Meter Register Book is supplied by the Department of Trade and Commerce to contractors for The purpose of assisting them in complying with the provisions of the Electricity Inspection Act, and the regulations established thereunder. The following requirement are necessary...The Electricity Inspection Act provides a penalty of fifty dollars for any neglect in respect of the above requirements."

Dear mother of William and his wife Karen, Michael and his wife Linda. Loved grandmother of Linda, Jane, Kimberly, Kelly and George. Loved great grandmother of Tammy, crystal, Jeremy, Christopher and Alexander.
Dear sister of Mrs. Krsynia Barria of Poland. Rested at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home, 244 Victoria St., Alliston from 2 to 4:30 and 7: to 9: p.m. on Friday.
Funeral service was held in the chapel on Saturday, April 14th, 11:00 a.m. Interment Alliston Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by family.

Institute elects year's officers

"The Tee-We-Gwill chapter of the Women's Institute held their first meeting with this year's officers last Monday night at the home of Mrs. Barbara Wilcox on Beeton Road. The Women's Institute was originally founded in Ontario to educate women in rural areas in the homemaking field. Since then it has become a world-wide community services oriented organization. The Tec-We-Gwill chapter sponsors a Can-Save Child in Austria, as well as sponsoring the Tec-Gwill 4-H Club for young women."
