Description : Following a long illness, Mrs. James Edney of Newton Robinson passed away in Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, on Sunday, October 17, 1965. Mrs. Edney was the former Edna Mary Train and she was born at Bond Head 75 years ago, where she spent her girlhood, attended school and was married to the late James Edney, and going from Bond Head to the Newton Robinson district. Mrs. Edney was a member of Trinity Church, Bond Head. Predeceased by her husband, and her only son, Earle James, Mrs. Edney is survived by eight daughters: Charlotte (Mrs. W. Birch) and Laura, both of Toronto; Annie (Mrs. Wm. Madill), Bond Head; Marjorie (Mrs. M. Connery), Rexdale; Ina (Mrs. J. Ainslie), Richmond Hill; Perla (Mrs. G. Piggott), Rexdale; Doris (Mrs. R. Mills), Scarboro; and Jean (Mrs. M. Staynor), Islington. Also predeceasing her were two daughters, Treva (Mrs. Wm. Agar) and Muriel Edna, who died in infancy.The funeral was held from the Hughes Funeral Home in Cookstown on October 20, with Rev. D. R. Welch of Bond Head conducting the services. Interment was in Newton Robinson Cemetery.The pallbearers were Messrs. W. Birch, W. Madill, M. Connery, J. Ainslie, G. Piggott and R. Mills, sons-in-law of the deceased.

Married Rose Bell of Bradford in 1904, who survives him. Only child, a daughter, died in infancy. Brother of Jesse of Bond Head and Mrs. Forgan (Annie) of Toronto. Funeral by Rev. C.R.P. Hearn of Trinity Church, Bond Head. Interment in Bond Head Cemetery.

Resting at Nicolls Funeral Home in Midland for service on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Westminster Cemetery, Willowdale.

Husband to Bessie McPherson, he had spent his entire life in the community. Is interred in the Bond Head cemetery where Mr. G. Troyer conducted the service.

Aunt of Bill Brethet and his wife Margaret of R.R. 3 Tottenham, Don Brethet and his wife Susan of Milton, Joan Cerswell of Bond Head, Ann and her husband William White of Scarborough, Lynda and her husband Gary Renegar of North Carolina, James Cerswell and his wife Kelly of Bond Head, and John Fowler of Aurora. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation and service at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford. Interment in Bond Head Cemetery. Widow of the late Robert Campbell, whom she married in March, 1836, in Toronto. Also predeceased by a son, and three daughters.Survived by five sons and two daughters. Had 10 children, 33 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Interred at Newton Robinson cemetery.
