Description : Age: 92nd year. Born December 25, 1815. Came to Canada from Ireland with her parents in 1823. Her father, John Long, settled in West Gwillimbury when it was a forest. Widow of the late Robert Campbell, whom she married in March, 1836, in Toronto. Also predeceased by a son, and three daughters.Survived by five sons and two daughters. Had 10 children, 33 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Interred at Newton Robinson cemetery.

Description : Died at York County Hospital, after several years of failing health and a recent eye operation. Husband of the late Edith Phillips. Brother of John and Christopher Lee of Bradford. Born in West Gwillimbury to a pioneer family. Was a farmer on Highway 27 until he sold his farm 28 years ago, after which he moved to Bradford and sold farm implements. He had sold this business a year before his death. After his wife died he sold his home on Church St., buying a home on John St. from his brother, Mr. John Lee, to be nearer his business. Rested at home. Funeral on October 18 at 2 p.m. Service in Trinity Church at 2:30 p.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill. Masonic auspices.

Description : Ida Jane Banting Watson was the eldest of five daughters of Charles and Jane McDermott Banting, and was born in Tecumseth Township, on a farm now owned by her son. Later, her father bought the old Willoughby farm on the townline, between Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury. When here she attended the then Methodist Church at Newton Robinson, where she added much to the service by her gift of song. She married John Watson and went to live in the Scotch Settlement, West Gwillimbury Township, where she brought up a family of five, namely, Carol and Marion who predeceased her; Jean of Toronto; Isabel, now Mrs. Norman Coutts, Cookstown; and Charles, who now owns the farm granted to her great-grandfather, James Banting, by the Crown. Leaving the Settlement they moved to a smaller farm near Bond Head. While there she attended the United Church at Bond Head and was helpful in the Woman's Missionary Society. Mrs. Watson was a devoted wife and loving mother, being well known in the district because of her sympathy with and great interest in the affairs of her friends. She had been ill for many months, and passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, on March 10. The funeral was to the cemetery in connection with the Presbyterian Church, Scotch Settlement, West Gwillimbury Township.

Description : "Former resident of Barrie. Thompson C. Fisher, who celebrated his 91st birthday last Wednesday [September 4, 1944], died in Toronto on Sunday. He had resided in Toronto for five years. Born at Bond Head, Mr. Fisher was a graduate of Upper Canada College. For a time he engaged in farming at Thompsonville and Ivy and later became associate with the insurance business in Alliston and Barrie. Surviving are two sons, Dr. R.E. Fisher, Toronto, and Dr. C.M. Fisher, Chicago, Ill."

Aunt of Bill Brethet and his wife Margaret of R.R. 3 Tottenham, Don Brethet and his wife Susan of Milton, Joan Cerswell of Bond Head, Ann and her husband William White of Scarborough, Lynda and her husband Gary Renegar of North Carolina, James Cerswell and his wife Kelly of Bond Head, and John Fowler of Aurora. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation and service at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford. Interment in Bond Head Cemetery. Description : Age: 74 years, 5 months.Born in Mohill, County Letrim, Ireland, and came with his parents to Canada when he was seven.They first settled in Lloydtown, and then Bond Head, where the deceased spend twenty years of his life, first in the hotel business, and then as a merchant.He then settled in Bradford in 1864, and farmed and ran a shop, which his sons now do.Had nine children: six sons - William and John predeceased him, James, Elder, Walter and Briton; and three daughters - Mrs. Rev. Wass, of Brantford, Mrs. J. McL. Stevenson, Esq., of Barrie, and another.Interred at Mount Pleasant.
