Description : Carolyn Rutherford, 16, of Beeton, died at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, of complications from major surgery performed there on February 19 for an embolism. She suffered a stroke and partial paralysis 15 minutes later.Carolyn, a grade 11 Banting Memorial student, was the daughter of John and Dorothea Rutherford of Lily
Street in Beeton, and sister of Jim Rutherford, goalkeeper for the Detroit Red Wings, and Marilyn Rutherford, who works in Toronto. Her grandparents are Jake Sunnerton and Ruby Rutherford.She rested at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home in Tottenham, and the funeral service was held Monday, February 26 at the Beeton United Church. Rev. James Cross led the service, assisted by Tom Aylmer. Pallbearers were Charles Lisk, Ray Lisk, Bob Sunnerton, Bill McCullough, Larry Ney and Ed Vanhaverbeke.Flower bearers were Joy Archibald, Brock Kelly, Todd Cenereni, Lisa Esson, Danielle Couture, Archie Proper, Marc Couture, Jackie Clare, Barry Andrews, John Boynton, Kristie Zalewski, Steven Vanhaverbeke, Warren Reynolds, and Una Fawns.
