Description : Died peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Bradford Valley, Bradford, formerly of Gilford in her 90th year. Ruth Sawyer (nee Hughes), beloved wife of the late Girvan Sawyer (1990). Dear mother of Evaleen, Toronto; Joe and Verna Sawyer, Gilford; Francis and Doug Shaw, Hawkstone; Anne and Nick Hurdman, Sudbury; Jean and Robert Keffer, Bradford; Mary Lou. Gramma to Tom (Lia) Sawyer and Janet (Kevin) Henderson; Jennifer and Kevin Shaw; Philip, Nicole and Matthew Keffer. Great-Gramma to Cameron Sawyer and Scott Henderson. Sister of Gordon (Margaret) Hughes. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ruth was devoted to her family, church and community. A member of Gilford United Church, a life member of the Gilford UCW, member of the Gilford and District Horticultural Society and a former Gilford news correspondent of the Bradford Witness, Barrie Examiner and Innisfil Scope. Thank-you to Bradford Vally and the Lake House staff for their care and friendship to Mom over the past four and a half years. Friens may call at SKWARCHUK FUNERAL HOME, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford (1-800-209-4803) for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Lathangue Chapel on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.
