SUTHERLAND, Gwendoline at the Humber Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 5, 1989. Beloved wife of Bruce, loved mother of Jacqueline and her husband Paul Travis of Bradford and Deborah and her husband Ian Young of London, England. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey & Craig Travis, sister of Frank Merritt and his wife Gloria. Funeral service was held at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, on Tuesday, October 10, 1989 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Sanctuary Park Cemetery.

Description : Died in St. Michael's Hospital, where he had spent the past six months. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Maher. Father of Peter, Mrs. F. Wilkinson (Mitzi), Mrs. A.J. Telegrapher with the railway at several stations before being appointed station master at Bradford forty years ago. Retired in 1937 and took up gardening, tending to his own garden and the garden of the Forty Martyrs' Church. Funeral from Holy Rosary Church, St. Clair Ave., Toronto, at 9 a.m. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Toronto. Pallbearers: Glenn Boyd, Harold Hirlehey, George Cushinan, Frank Maher, Pat Maher, and P. Michell.

Description : Died as the result of a car accident, of Toronto, formerly of Bradford, in her 18th year. Survived by her sister, Mrs. Olga Marie Styles. Funeral was held on Friday, August 6, from the Russian Orthodox Church in Toronto.

Description : A native of Bradford, Mr. Norman B. Strong, 74, of Colin Ave., Toronto, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday of last week. He had been at business on Monday. Mr. Strong was the only son of the late Mr. Wm. Strong, one time shoe merchant of Bradford, and his wife, the late Mrs. Sarah Bingham Strong. He apprenticed with the late Mr. William Campbell in what was for so many years known as Campbell's Drug Store, Bradford, before attending the Ontario College of Pharmacy in Toronto, from which he graduated in 1905. After a short period in Montreal, Mr. Strong went into business for himself in Haileybury. He returned to Toronto in 1921 and has operated two drug stores in the city for the past 33 years, one in the King Edward Hotel and the other at Bloor and Yonge St., known as Strong-Mellraith Ltd., of which Mr. Strong was president. Mr. Strong was a member of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, the Downtown Kiwanis Club, and York Downs Golf Club of Toronto. Mr. Strong is survived by his wife, the former Adelaide Kinzinger; two daughters, Mrs. E. W. Steiner and Mrs. Marion Hardy, and three grandchildren, all of Toronto; and one sister, Mrs. W. G. Faris (Bertha) formerly of Maple Farm, Bradford, and now residing in Queensville. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Graham (Clara) and Mrs. R. H. Perley (Florence), also, by his father's first marriage, a half brother and two half sisters, namely, Walter Strong, Mrs. Broughton (Alma) and Miss Myra Strong. The funeral was held in Toronto on Thursday from the Morley Bedford Chapel, Eglinton Ave. W., with interment in York Cemetery.

Mrs. Keith Collings of Paris, Ont., and formerly of Bradford, attended the bride. Mr. Keith Collings of Paris was groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. Veale will reside at Ajax, which is convenient to branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce at Rouge Hills where Mr. Veale is a member of the staff. The bride, who is a graduate nurse from the Toronto General Hospital, was honoured by her friends at several showers" of gifts before her marriage."
