Cavan, Ireland, and came to Canada in 1846 with his brother Robert, who still lives.Together they settled in West Gwillimbury and operated a saw mill, before moving to the 11th concession, to farm. His wife died in 1885.He had 12 children, 3 sons and 9 daughters, of whom ten survive.Interred at Church of England burying ground at Coulson's Hill.
